PETALING JAYA: Multinational information technology and electronics company Lenovo Group Ltd is urging small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to make use of the latest computing tools and technology to take their business further in today's digital era.
And, if these SMEs are worried that they will be too preoccupied with their day-to-day business operations or that they do not have the technical expertise to manage such systems, "Don't be," said Khoo Hung Chuan, country general manager for Lenovo Malaysia.
Lenovo has launched the latest models for its ThinkCentre Edge PCs and ThinkPad Edge notebook series, as well as two new PC management tools - the Lenovo Solutions Centre (LSC) and Lenovo Solutions for Small Business (LSSB), powered by Intel's Small Business Advantage (SBA) technology.
"These will assist SMEs that lack dedicated IT personnel to deal with computing matters like security and backups, and will significantly improve the ability of SMEs to manage their IT systems," Khoo said.
LSC is focused on keeping the PCs in a business running at peak performance to improve operational efficiency. It assesses software and hardware, diagnoses solutions to operating problems, and even gives tips to fix potential problems before they impact the business.
LSC can also be utilised to schedule backups, create recovery media, update software and manage virus protection, firewall and passwords.
SBA, on the other hand, enhances desktop PC security and user productivity while offering users features such as automatic software updates and maintenance, scheduled backups, and energy saving capabilities.
Both solutions have been conveniently integrated into Lenovo's SimpleTap 2.0 interface, providing users with a single vantage point to access all the features, Khoo said.
SMEs can now focus on their business, and not the running of their computer network, he said, but still have peace of mind that their systems will always be available.
Pricing for the ThinkCentre Edge and ThinkPad Edge series starts from RM3,699 and RM2,499, respectively.
